Tunku Kurshiah Wind Orchestra (TKWO) is an organic entity of Tunku Kurshiah College(TKC), nurtured in 1970 as part of the band program in TKC. Since its inception, it has grown originally from a marching band into a concert wind band, along with growing reputations as a promising youth ensemble both indoor and outdoor. TKWO inaugurated its international endeavors in 2003, performing in European cities as part of a musical sojourn. TKWO has also been actively involved in national and international level wind orchestra competition such as 29th International Society for Music Education (ISME) Conference in Beijing, China in 2010, SIBF 2012 and Malaysia International of Music Arts Festival in 2015,2016 and 2017. TKWO has won the title of champion, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up in the wind band competition of boarding schools and received a successive gold award from 2008.
